THE GRUFFALO
2010 Tour
A B O U T
Following sell-out performances in the West End and on Broadway, Tall Stories continued their hugely successful tour in Dublin, Ireland with this big scary monster of a show…
Adapted from Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler’s award-winning, best-selling book, The Gruffalo, the hugely popular prequel to last year’s Children’s Book of the Year at the British Book the Year awards; The Gruffalo’s Child, our storyfollows Mouse into the deep dark wood on a hunt for hazelnuts. Armed with just a nut map and a very vivid imagination, Mouse runs into the smirking, wheeler-dealer Fox; an eccentric, retired Woodland Air Force officer Owl; and the maraca-shaking, party animal Snake. Rather than becoming the main course of their next meal, Mouse scares them away with stories of an imaginary monster friend, but what happens when he comes face to face with the very creature he imagined?
A delectable tale about the adventures of a clever mouse in a forest full of predators, The Gruffalo is packed with songs, laughs and scary fun for children aged 3 and up, and their adults…

Hello. We went to see The Gruffalo today at The Bull Barnet. My children (3 & 5) loved it and so did mum and dad! The acting of all three was excellent, the music very catchy and I was impressed how you had embellished the script. Well done and good luck with any future shows!John Brooker
Saw the production in Brighton – superb, energetic, committed theatre. Knocks spots off any panto and much enjoyed by all. Congratulations and thanks.Phil Richardson
I saw The Gruffalo last week in Barnet with my 6-year-old and her friend. I was so, so impressed. The performances, the script and the staging were wonderful and the three of us (and the rest of the theatre) were absolutely enthralled. I was staggered at the quality of the adaptation and the creativity of what was presumably produced through improvisation.Pauline Eyre
A child is more likely than an adult to be able to accept improvisation, but as an adult who saw The Gruffalo with his children, I was staggered at how readily I accepted a man wearing a tweed jacket and a cap as a fox! So it is with great admiration that I thank the diminutive cast for making me a child again!! I was not prepared for the experience and it is one of those rare occasions where I can truthfully say that given the opportunity I would take my children (if not just go on my own), to see it again. Thank you.Dean Brewis
